Cuídate para cuidarme producto digital para minimizar el impacto del síndrome de burnout en los cuidadores informales de pacientes con Alzheimer

Abstract

Los cuidadores informales de pacientes con Alzheimer se ven afectados por el síndrome de burnout, debido a estresores físicos, emocionales, sociales y económicos que esta labor impone sobre ellos, agregado al poco acompañamiento por parte del sector salud y gubernamental. Es así como en este proyecto se expone la situación de los cuidadores informales de pacientes con Alzheimer, la realidad actual en la que se encuentran en Colombia y las causas que llevan al cuidador a padecer del síndrome de burnout, con el fin de obtener un conocimiento alrededor del tema y de esta manera llegar a una solución que pueda minimizar el impacto de dicho síndrome, causante del deterioro en la calidad de vida en los cuidadores informales de pacientes con Alzheimer, en la ciudad de Bogotá. Para la adecuada solución del problema se considera pertinente realizar una investigación de carácter mixto, bajo una metodología basada en el método proyectual de Bruno Munari (Munari, 1983), con elementos del diseño emocional y el diseño colaborativo. Esta metodología se divide en cuatro fases: Indagación y análisis, Síntesis, evaluación e implementación. Luego de aplicar la metodología se decide desarrollar un producto digital, que busca incentivar al reconocimiento del síndrome por parte de los cuidadores, proporcionar herramientas conductuales dirigidas al autocuidado y conectar a los cuidadores entre sí, involucrando al mismo tiempo entidades de apoyo social.

The informal caregivers of patients with Alzheimer’s are seen affected by burnout, affecting aspects in the physical, emotional, social, and economic dimensions which this labor imposes on them. In this article, the situation of these caregivers, the actual reality in which they are found in Colombia, and the causes which bring the caregiver to suffer from burnout are exposed, with the end goal of obtaining knowledge about the topic and, by this manner, arrive at a solution which can minimize the impact of burnout, which causes deterioration in quality of life in the informal caregivers of patients with Alzheimer’s, in the city of Bogota via a digital product. For the adequate solution of the problem, an investigation of qualitative character, under a methodology based on the project method of Bruno Munari (Munari, 1983), with elements of collaborative design is established. This methodology is divided into four phases: Inquiry and analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and implementation. With this methodology, obtaining a solution from the discipline of digital design and multimedia, based on empathy and collaboration with the caregivers via exploration of the field and participative sessions, where spaces of conversation around experiences are propitiated. Obtaining as a result a design response which meets the general objective of the project, developing a web platform that through its contents incentivizing the recognition of burnout, Cuídate para cuidarme 13 proportioning behavioral tools directed toward self-care, and connecting caregivers, involving at the same time entities of social support, is sought.
