dc.description.abstractEn los últimos años el consumo de perfumes ha aumentado, por ello las industrias han optado por el uso de productos sintéticos que reducen costos y mejoran la calidad del producto final. Muchos de esos componentes se han identificado como disruptores endocrinos los cuales afectan la homeostasis del cuerpo porque pueden ejercer un efecto agonista o antagonista en diferentes ejes hormonales, que a su vez genera diferentes efectos en la salud como lo son problemas reproductivos, problemas metabólicos, cáncer, algunos se han descrito como obesógenos, entre otros convirtiéndose en un factor predisponente para la presentación de enfermedades. En este trabajo se realizó una revisión documental en diferentes bases de datos, donde se identificaron como principales disruptores endocrinos en perfumes a los ftalatos (DEP y DEPH), parabenos, almizcles sintéticos (almizcles macrocíclicos y policíclicos), igualmente estas sustancias y sus metabolitos han sido encontrados en diferentes muestras, especialmente orina, lo cual ha sido relacionado con el uso de fragancias. Asimismo, se ha identificado un mayor riego de exposición de estos compuestos en mujeres por la frecuencia de uso productos perfumados y en poblaciones vulnerables a cambios hormonales como los niños y mujeres en embarazo.spa
