dc.description.abstract | La microbiota intestinal es la comunidad de microorganismos vivos residentes en el tubo digestivo, compuesta por bacterias, virus y hongos, que se adquieren después del nacimiento y que cumplen varias funciones importantes.La microbiota intestinal está determinada por factores como la edad, la alimentación, la genética, el ambiente, entre otros. Se ha descubierto que existe una relación entre la disbiosis o alteración de la composición de la microbiota y el desarrollo de enfermedades autoinmunes, inflamatorias y enfermedades neurodegenerativas como la enfermedad de Parkinson (EP) y el Alzheimer (EA). Estudios evidencian que el intestino y el sistema nervioso central (SNC) se comunican entre sí. La secuenciación del gen de ARN ribosómico 16S (ARNr) pone en evidencia que la microbiota intestinal bacteriana se encuentra alterada en algunas enfermedades neurodegenerativas y comprueba que la diversidad de la microbiota intestinal disminuye sobre todo en edades adultas. Esto, explica que el envejecimiento puede aumentar la inflamación intestinal y cambiar los taxones bacterianos; así se incrementan las bacterias proinflamatorias y disminuyen las bacterias antiinflamatorias, desencadenando inflamación sistémica del SNC, lo que resulta en una neurodegeneración. En esta monografía se ofrece una revisión bibliográfica, donde se busca comparar la microbiota intestinal en personas sanas y en personas con enfermedades neurodegenerativas y relacionar la disbiosis intestinal con el desarrollo de estas enfermedades. Así mismo, se pretende contribuir en futuras investigaciones sobre el uso de estrategias que permitan mejorar el proceso de diagnóstico y pronostico temprano en el desarrollo de enfermedades crónicas del sistema nervioso y asi llegar a evitar la manifestacion de sintomasneurologicos que bajan la calidad de vida humana. | spa |
